Around the Campfire

Retreats like we had this past weekend are one of the main reasons I am involved with this great Fraternity. We had a great turnout of brothers and were able to bond at all moments. From the recruitment workshops to the college football games, our bonding was incredible.

The meaning of our retreats is to build brotherhood and I know we all felt brotherhood this weekend. We all now know more about each other than we ever did previously. Sitting around the campfire that Saturday night for hours is what I truly treasure about what we do here at BETA. I can honestly say that everyone listened intently to what all had to say and some gave some great advice and food for thought so all could hear. We all gave a song that meant something to us and how we could relate it to our future in life, in BETA or in anything in particular. Many people express themselves through song but it is amazing to hear others' interpretations and how they may view a song. This is not something that is done often, especially with those who you care about and are close with. This is hands down one of my favorite activities and I truly hope that it is continued on BETA retreats for ages to come.

After this weekend I feel like I am much closer with all my brothers who I may not have known so deeply. Thanks to all who put on this experience and I look forward to the next!
