Editor's Note: The following was read to the colony following our annual Parents & Family Weekend BBQ, held on October 24, 2009.
Dear Beta Brothers and Advisors,
Thank you so very much for hosting the barbeque yesterday. What a classy barbeque you put on. The food was great and the tables looked beautiful (Thanks Kyle!).
This type of gathering allows your parents to get a chance to see a small insight of what Beta is all about. We hear stories from our sons, but there is no doubt we will never understand the total being of Betas. You have to be a Beta to truly get the whole picture but events like your barbeque gives us some idea.
As I entered the room and was greeted by numerous Betas it all began to make me start and think - wow! What a great group of guys Betas are. As the afternoon went on and I watched the slideshow of your many memories and then one by one as each Beta introduced themselves, I could not help but to think how I am so proud that my son is a Beta. I am proud of all of you and the fine young men you are!
I know without a doubt that you will reach your goal this year and become a chapter. You deserve it! Again, thanks for everything and GO BETA!
