Can you say AMAZING?!?

Editor's Note: The Epsilon Class of Beta Theta Pi went on a brotherhood retreat to nearby Carrollodge over the weekend of March 12-14. Throughout the course of the retreat, our new members developed their leadership skills and grew closer as a class through various bonding and trust activities.

As we got lost trying to find Carrollodge on Friday night, I could only imagine how the retreat was going to unfold. I soon learned that it was better than expected. The group activities (challenges) were no big deal for the Epsilon Class!!! We demolished all previous records. The human knot was completed in a mere 18 SECONDS! Can you say AMAZING?!?

As the retreat progressed, it was all about teamwork and listening skills. These activities challenged us on how well we worked together. For the most part, we did well - except for the last activity, the "Blind Polygon." This proved to be the most difficult because no one listened to each other, which lead to ultimate disaster.

The retreat proved to be an excellent way to fully get to know my fellow brothers, through the fun activities and with the more serious ones, like the retreat-concluding song activity. This one was my favorite, not only because everyone had a great taste in music, but because of the story behind the music. The mood behind everyone's story was sad, but with that comes the faith and brotherhood knowing that was revealed will not be repeated. The songs, I think, made everyone come closer.
